REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION

Being Indian is our identity however; being republican is our country's identiity. 

Republic Day is the day the Constitution came into force, and this is the day for paying honours to the birth of the Constitution of India which came into force on 26th of January 1950 and replaced the Government of India Act of 1935.

Indian School Sohar celebrated the 69th Republic day with great enthusiasm. The Chief Guest for the programme was Mr. Abraham George, President of School Managing Committee. The programme was also attended by SMC members Mr. Ajay Damani and Mr. Rajesh Mehta, Principal Mrs. Sanchita Verma, staff members, students & parents.
The SMC members were escorted by the pilots & student council members. 

The Principal gave the welcome note and began with the President of India's message 'Equality, Secularism Foundations of India'. She also informed about this year's Republic Day celebrations being attended by the 10 heads representing ASEAN nations in New Delhi. She urged the students to work hard to become better citizens of our country.

Manasvi More (XE) delivered the Republic day speech. The Senior school choir sang the national song 'Vande Matram' and portrayed the patriotism of ISS. The event also included patriotic song”Taraa Rum Pum Pum” by Junior school choir.  The grand finale was the action song showcasing the unity within diversity among various states. The event concluded with the National Anthem followed by distribution of sweets. The programme was compered by Nandini Rajesh of XC.
