Indian school Sohar participated in the Inter-school Environmental Quiz competition held at Indian school Muscat on 21st January 2018 and secured third prize. Five schools participated in the quiz contest. The teams comprised of two participants per school. Master Naukshatro Bose and Master Mohammed Owais Khan represented Indian school Sohar. Mr. Aslam Sheriff and Ms. Smitha Gupta were the coordinators and quiz masters of the event.
Ms. Smitha Gupta conducted the quiz in a very interactive way and the teams participated with great enthusiasm and answered the questions skillfully. Though some of the questions were very tricky, the teams tried to answer them with confidence. The audience also got a chance to participate every time the teams answered incorrectly.
The various rounds covered topics like Natural Wonders, Terms of Environment, Innovation and the Environment, Disasters, Environment as Identified with Gods, Ecology and Famous Personalities. The final round, the Rapid-fire Round gave the other teams a chance to catch up with the leading teams and put-up a tough fight. The competition ensured that the winners encompassed substantial knowledge about the Environment. Our School bagged the third place with 50 points. The winners were given mementoes and certificates.
