OMAN ENVIRONMENT DAY- 8TH JANUARY 2019

Committed to keep the environment of Oman clean and green, the members of Green Gyan Eco Club of Indian School Sohar celebrated the Oman Environment Day on Tuesday, 8th January 2019.

Saplings were planted by the Principal Ms. Sanchita Verma, Supervisors, Club Coordinators, Teachers and Omani staff in the school premises.

To inculcate the habits to reduce, reuse and recycle of plastics among the students, the plastic bottles were recycled into beautiful hanging flower pots by the students of classes V -VIII. This was highly appreciated by all the staff and students.

The school has adopted BYOB-Bring Your Own Bottle Campaign in order to reduce the usage of non-biodegradable disposal glasses in the school. This was strengthened by the eco club volunteers who went to the staff rooms and promoted the Campaign with the help of section coordinators Ms. Reji Sabu and Ms. Saima Ahmad. The event was successfully coordinated by Mr. Kamal Prasad Gurung, Club coordinator.

As the part of the celebration the Principal Ms. Sanchita Verma addressed the gathering and encouraged all to preserve, care for the environment and emphasized on “Connecting People to Nature”.

All the assembled members took a vow to keep the host country Oman ‘Clean and Green’.
