U-13 Boys’ cricket team of Indian School Sohar participated in the Oman Cricket League, 2018-19 organized by Oman Cricket. The 17 teams participated in the tournament, were divided into two groups A and B. ISS team was placed in group A along with eight other teams. Playing for the first time, our young and dynamic players performed very well on the field and impressed everyone with their cricketing skills under the coaching of Mr. Kamal Prasad Gurung. Our school won against MCCC (D) by 10 wickets, ISWK by 8 wickets, MCCC (E) by 6 wickets and Bosher Olympic Center by 4 wickets. Karan Veer Singh, the team captain led from the front with his skills and inspired other players to give their best. The highest run scorer of the team was Thangavel Senthilkumar followed by Karan Veer Singh, Jeevan and Viksar. Malhar Manuelraj, Sneh, Viksar Udayasurian, Atharva Sahu and Harsh Veer Singh spelled good overs to keep the score in control and took important wickets.
The constant motivation and encouragement of our honorable Principal, Ms. Sanchita Verma enabled the students to excel in sports. The team managers Mr. Gagandeep Singh and Mr. Nikhil More along with the parents supported and encouraged the team players throughout the exciting league matches.
