By Neister Eckhardt
The greatness of a culture can be found in its festivals. A special assembly on the occasion of Baisakhi was organized on 16th April in Indian School Sohar. The main objective of the celebration was to inculcate the values and culture amongst the young generation. The students of class V F and IV A presented the assembly. The day began with a prayer song followed by thought for the day and a speech on the harvest festival celebrated in Punjab. The main attraction of the assembly was an enthralling dance performance showcasing the Punjabi culture. The dazzling attire and foot tapping dance steps fascinated the student audience and the teachers. The principal Mrs. Sanchita Verma, appreciated the efforts of the organizers and instructed the students about the safety and discipline in school. The winners of the IS Quiz, Sub Junior category were announced and applauded. Arabhy M and Jennifer Elizabeth of class IV H bagged first position in the same. The assembly concluded with the National Anthem.
