In order to scale the heights and reach the pinnacle of success, Indian School Sohar always strives to inculcate a sense of responsibility and commitment among the students with their heads held high, ready to shoulder responsibilities as leaders. The most auspicious ceremonial occasion of the school, the Investiture Ceremony for the academic year 2019-2020 was held with great pomp and dignity in a special ceremony at the school Recreation Hall, on the 20th May 2019.
The Chief Guest for the event was Mr. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mubarak Bin Hamad Al-Badri, Director of the Department of Human Resources Development and Chairman of the Scout Excellence and Scout Competition Committee on the Grand Scout Cup in the Governorate, Ministry of Education, North Batinah Governorate. A spirit of unity and dynamism filled the air when the Principal, Vice-Principal along with the Chief Guest and other dignitaries lighted the auspicious Lamp of knowledge followed by the soulful rendition of the School Prayer.
Mr. Yashvir Singh, the Supervisor of the Secondary School and also the Coordinator of the Selection Panel, was glad to introduce the Panel Members included Mr. Lourduraj (HOD Mathematics), Mrs. Indira Sukumaran (Supervisor Middle Selection), Mrs. Tanu Sarda (HOD Computer Science), Mr. Rajashekaran (HOD Social Science), Mr. Kamal Prasad Gurung (HOD Physical Education) and Mr. Kuldeep Singh( Faculty Physical Education). J. Shravan, the School Captain of the previous session, shared his experience, thanked the Principal, Vice-Principal, the teachers and congratulated his team. The gathering was mesmerized by the beguiling dance performance by the girls of Std IX & X.
A garland of motivational words delivered by the Principal, Mrs. Sanchita Verma guided the Student Council Members to be the role models and render their responsibilities sincerely as the nation builders of tomorrow. She congratulated the parents who proudly witnessed their children being invested with great responsibilities. She was pleased to share about the achievement of students of Indian School Sohar in academics and sports and also applauded the outgoing Council Members of the previous session for their exemplary functioning and endowed them with certificates. The Houses – in Charge for the academic session 2019-20, Mrs. Shamna Sandhesh of Blue House, Mr. Lourduraj of Green House, Mr. Rajesh Oberoi of Red House and Mr. Mohammed Ilyas of Yellow House, were also introduced.
The majestic march of the new Council Members added to the grandeur of the event. They were conferred with badges and sashes by the Principal along with the Chief Guest and other dignitaries. The School Captains along with other Council Members took the oath, administered by the Principal, to uphold the spirit and integrity of the school and promised to discharge their duties faithfully and honestly without fear or favour taking the school to newer heights and resplendence.

The ceremony came to a glorious end with the vote of thanks which was proposed by Dimpi, The School Captain. In each eye was seen hope for a better, more successful tomorrow. The ISS family hopes that the Student Council for the academic year 2019-2020 witnesses the zenith of success and progress in its term.
