FOOD DONATION DRIVE

 YCIS of Indian School Sohar organized food donation drive for the students of classes VI to XII in the auspicious month of Ramadan.

The food donation drive was inaugurated by the Vice-Principal Dr. Vinu Kumar. In the inaugural address Vice Principal appreciated the team for organizing the drive, there by instilling the value of charity amongst students.

Staff and Students participated enthusiastically by donating food items like fruits, cakes, biscuits, juices, laban, namkeen, dry fruits etc.

Working hand in hand with over 200 YCIS volunteers from classes VI-XI, the food items brought by the students and staff members were collected, segregated, packed and then distributed to those in need in the nearby locality, Sohar souq area, OIG camp etc. This drive stands at the heart of one of our strategic goals to serve the community. YCIS was able to scale up Food Donation project into a robust program.

Principal, Mrs. Sanchita Verma appreciated the initiative taken up by YCIS and congratulated the team for its huge success. The coordinator Ms. Indira S expressed heartfelt thanks to the Principal, YCIS volunteers, Ex- Students and YCIS teacher in-charges who took part in the drive enthusiastically and worked tirelessly from collection to packing and then distributing the food items to the needy people in the Sohar souq area and other nearby localities during the evening hours for  two consecutive days.

The YCIS team expresses its gratitude to the SMC, Principal, students, parents, staff members and all others for their whole hearted support in making this drive extremely successful.
