YOUNG COMMUNITARIAN OF INDIAN SCHOOLS
TREE PLANTATION DRIVE
“For in the true nature of things, if we rightly consider, every green tree is far more glorious than if it were made of gold and silver.” - Martin Luther
In order to sensitize student towards the need to preserve our environment and ecology, YCIS club of Indian School Sohar initiated its project by a tree plantation drive. We tried to instill a sense of environmental awareness amongst our young communitarians through a Coconut tree Plantation in the school on 15 May 2019.
The seeds of this project were sowed by Mrs. Sanchita Verma and YCIS team. This drive focused to sensitize the importance of planting more trees by emphasizing on their benefits. Coconut tree is also called ” Kalpa – Vriksha “. Or “Tree of Life” as every bit of coconut tree can be used to meet the necessities of life. Planting trees on a school campus improves the aesthetic appearance of the campus besides providing shade and fresh air.
Principal, Mrs. Sanchita Verma appreciated the initiative taken up by YCIS members and congratulated the coordinator Ms. Indira S and teachers in-charge Ms. Anam, Ms. Shahnaz, Ms. Selvi and Ms. Deepa R for this noble cause. The coordinator expressed gratitude for the complete support and guidance extended by the school and envisioned to plant and steward trees.
