Indian school Sohar is striving hard in pursuit of excellence and is consistently progressing not only in teaching, learning and achieving enhanced results but in infra structure and other facilities for students also. The latest addition is the facility of Artificial Turf with five grounds for football, volleyball and throwball respectively. The lush green, eye pleasing seemless landscape has enhanced the beauty and ambience of the School. This facility will ensure better safety, resolve dust related problems and subside allergy related diseases among students.
The formal Inauguration of the Artificial Turf was held on 7th August 2019. The ribbon cutting ceremony was performed by the Honorary Members of Banyan Merchant Community Sh. Anil Khimji, Sh. Kiran Asher and Sh. Rajendra M Ved respectively. It was held in the esteemed presence of Mr. Abraham George, President, School Managing Committee, SMC Members Mr. Latit Asher, Mr. Rajesh Mehta and Mr. Ajay Damani along with the Principal, Vice-Principal, Supervisors’, HODs’, teachers and the students council members’.
Mr. Abraham George welcomed the guests and expressed his gratitude towards the entire Banyan Merchant Community for providing this historical moment for the entire school to cherish. On this occasion, an inaugural friendly Football Match by the students of class XI was organised which was quite thrilling. The guests also visited the multipurpose hall to witness the indoor sports facilities.
