The School Managing Committee in association with the Cultural Club of Indian School Sohar hosted a special evening dedicated to all the teachers and their families. The function was organized to felicitate, express gratitude and appreciation to the entire teaching fraternity and staff members.
The fun filled and glittering function started with the section wise musical entry of teachers on the stage. All teachers exhibited their modelling talent and entered in style. This was followed by the welcome speech by the Principal Ms. Sanchita Verma in which she welcomed all the SMC members, teachers and family members. She compiled and showed a video exhibiting the AHA moments of teachers in the school.
Sh. Abraham George, President, School Managing Committee in his address urged the teachers to inculcate the virtue of judicious use of available resources among students and to enhance discipline as a top priority. He also asked teachers to continue their strive for excellence in academics and co-curricular activities.
The highlight of the event was the Magic Show by Mr. Ashok – The Magician – with 35 years of experience, who conducted over 3000 shows and is the resident of Muscat for past 28 years. He took the audience to the mystic world, mesmerized, surprised and astonished them with his magical activities involving teachers and children. The kids were too eager and enthusiastic during the show.
The Cultural club members presented melodious solo, duet and group songs along with other teachers. Mr. Manoj Dubey, Dance Teacher and a Kathak expert presented his impressive dance performance. Teachers of III to V presented and enacted old and popular advertisements which mostly appeared on television in 80s and 90s. This item was awesome and enjoyed by all.
The grand finale was the felicitation of the staff members by the School Managing Committee. The other esteemed members present along with the President Sh. Abraham George were Sh. Lalit Asher, Convener, Sh, Ajay Damani, Joint Treasurer and Dr. Mahesh Mistry, Senior Member.
The Masters of Ceremony were the Vice-Principal Dr. Vinu Kumar and Dr. Paramjit Oberoi.
