“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” - Pablo Picasso
Drawing plays an important role in a child’s cognitive development. It can help a child learn to write and think creatively, develop hand-eye co-ordination, hone analytic skills, and conceptualize ideas. Happiness comes from creative efforts. The joy of dreaming, creating and expressing one’s thoughts by drawing and painting is unparalleled. The famous painter Leonardo da Vinci said, “Where the spirit does not work with the hand there is no art.” Keeping this in mind and to explore the creative potentials in the young minds, Indian School Sohar organized a Drawing and Colouring Competition for the students of classes III-V on 5th August 2019.
The main objective of this competition was to unleash the creative thoughts and ideas of the budding artists. It provided as a platform to showcase their talent. All the students participated in this competition with great zeal and enthusiasm.
