Navratri and Dussehra, the two major and important festivals, we celebrated with great pomp and show in a special Assembly at Indian School Sohar on 8th October 2019. The assembly commenced with a prayer song, followed by a thought. The speech on the occasion enlightened the little minds with the significance of the festival that it epitomizes the victory of the good over evil. Students presented a fabulous dance performance which enthralled the audience. The positivity and energy exuberating out of the colourful costumes combined with the enthusiasm of the dance created an ambience of vigour and zest. The quiz was centered on the myths associated with Navratri and Dussehra. The exquisite melody of the special song made everybody spellbound. The information about Navratri, the nine forms of Goddess Durga, was provided by the students in a very beautiful way. It was an informative as well as an entertaining assembly.
The Principal, Mrs. Sanchita Verma, addressed the gathering and gave her message to children about the importance of celebrating all festivals so as to have a good insight into the rich and varied culture of India. The assembly concluded with the National Anthem.
