Indian School Sohar organised the Annual Exhibition for Primary section, Spectrum 2019 on 23rd and 24th October 2019 to provide a platform for children to display their knowledge, creativity, investigative skills, to boost their confidence and to reflect enthusiasm and innovative ideas of students. The gala event witnessed the enormous participation of the students and was a huge success as the spectators were delighted to see the emerging talents of the participants.
The Chief Guest for the occasion Dr Khalid Rashid Mohammed Al Balushi, Director, Educational Programmes and the Guest of Honour, Mr. Rashid bin Saif Al Maqbali, English Language Supervisor, Directorate General of Education, Ministry of Education, North Al Batinah Governorate inaugurated the show by lighting the lamp. The President, School Managing Committee, Mr. Abraham George and the Joint treasurer Mr Ajay Damani enhanced the glory of this event with their esteemed presence.
The tiny tots of Kindergarten to class II displayed activities and models based on Multiple Intelligences and gained the attention and appreciation of everyone. Beautiful models were displayed on different themes like Seasons, Colours, Safety, Our Beautiful World, Learn Math with Fun, Festivals of India. The English and Hindi sections highlighted the various aspects of language and imparted knowledge through interesting games, puzzles and models. The children presented a fashion show depicting festivals of India and a fascinating math skit ‘Zero the Hero’ on the value of zero, which kept the audiences captive. The centre of attraction were ‘Live Shows’ where the characters of different stories and rhymes came alive in the School Junior library.
The major attraction of the III – V section was the Fit India Movement, an initiative by the Honourable Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi. It was a cultural programme comprising of yoga, games and dances to keep the body fit. The audience also viewed the fascinating ramp walk of the Superheroes. Musical Treat enthralled the audience with the variety of songs.
The Art of Letters and Books - Authors corner from English Department impressed the visitors with their imagination, presentation and creativity. The Hindi Department displayed Screen Mania which emphasized on limiting the screen time and Nav Srajan Vihar exhibiting the creativity of the participants as they arrayed the charts and models related to grammar. The Number World and Calculia showcased the importance of Mathematics in our daily life.
The Amazonia created awareness about Amazon, the largest rainforest. It sensitized people about the importance of saving environment. The Social Science department took the viewers in the past to the glorious times of the Mughal Dynasty. The Science Gallery enabled the spectators to witness various live experiments and models based on latest developments. The Land of Blessings exhibited the rich culture and heritage of our beloved host country- Oman. The Art & craft section showcased the coffee painting, glitter embossing, wool embroidery and pebbles painting. Reduce, Reuse and Recycle concept was implemented in the Trash to Treasure room, where the students recycled and used the waste to give the best. Let’s go Tech presented latest technology, its wonder and benefits.
The visit of the teachers and students from neighbouring Omani schools was quite encouraging and it served as a platform for exchange of ideas and interaction with the natives.
The distinguished guests and parents applauded the combined efforts of the teachers, parents and students.This event left every one enthralled and mesmerized by the scintillating display of talent.
Mr. Abraham George, President, School Managing Committee congratulated the Principal and the team on such pioneering, inclusive and imaginative work culminating in the brilliant exhibition.
The Principal, Ms. Sanchita Verma congratulated the staff and students for the spectacular, innovative and successful show.
