Diwali, the festival of lights that enlightens and brings joy to every heart, was celebrated at Indian School Sohar on 29th October 2019 in the Recreation Hall. Decorated in vibrant hues, the hall had an ambience of joy and happiness. A spirit of unity and dynamism filled the air when the Principal, Vice-Principal along with the Supervisor and teachers lighted the auspicious Lamp of knowledge followed by the soulful rendition of the School Prayer. The importance of the festival was brought out through a thought which was followed by a speech on the significance of the festival and the relevance of eco-friendly celebrations. A melody wishing everyone a “Happy Diwali” was sung by the choir.

A skit was staged by the students of classes IX & X in which they emphasized on the urge to act responsibly and be sensitive towards the essence of their environment and safety of animals and also organized a Nukkad Natak to spread the message to "Celebrate pollution free Diwali and say no to crackers. The students showcased the spirit of Diwali through a mesmerizing dance performance.

The Principal, Mrs. Sanchita Verma, addressed the gathering and gave away the prizes for various competitions. The Principal, in her message to children spoke about the importance of eco-friendly celebrations. She appreciated the teachers and students for their effort in organizing the assembly. The assembly concluded with the National Anthem.
