Indian School Sohar witnessed yet another euphoric day of academic accomplishment. The school’s pledge to stand out unparalleled in academics, resonated in the splendid 100% results in the CBSE Class XII examinations (AISSCE), held in February/March 2020. All the 98 students, 73 in the Science stream and 25 in the Commerce stream, passed triumphantly.
In Science Stream, Shirishti Jain, scoring an aggregate of 98% secured the first position in the school. The second position was secured by Riddhi Sharma, with a score 96.6 % and the third position was secured by Talluri Sri Satya Sai Revanth, scoring 95.8%.
In Commerce Stream Devanshi Patodia, scored 96.6% and stood first. Suriya Mariselvan, scored 95.6% and stood second and Naman Jani scored 93.6% thus securing the third position.
Principal Ms. Sanchita Verma noted in the Science stream 59 students out of 73 scored 75% and above while in the Commerce Stream 18 students out of 25 scored 75% and above.
She said “The remarkable performance of our students came as a whiff of fresh air and validation of the belief that there are some certainties in these uncertain times.”
“I am so grateful for the hard work and dedication of our ever-supportive management, teachers, parents and students. It takes everyone working together in harmony to move our students forward. My heartiest compliments to this entire team” she underlined.
The School Managing Committee President Mr. Abraham George and members of SMC lauded all outgoing Class XII students for their stunning efforts. They congratulated the Principal, Vice Principal, and the teachers for their dedication and commitment to the cause of academic excellence.
Praising the efforts of the students Vice Principal Dr. Vinu Kumar said, “Our students have inspired us with their perseverance, resilience, and laser-sharp focus for the Board exams, despite the pendulous swing of uncertainty due to the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Most parents and toppers mentioned that consistent teaching, periodic extra classes, regular remedial classes, and dedication of the Senior School teachers were the reasons for their academic excellence. It is indeed a brilliant display of teamwork and a day of great joy for the ISS Family.
