THE FIRST VIRTUAL TEACHERS’ DAY CELEBRATION

The first ever virtual Teachers’ Day of Indian School Sohar was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the students and teachers on the 132nd birthday of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan ,5th of September 2020. The students expressed their sincere love, affection, and respect by sending their wishes through videos. The virtual celebration commenced by remembering Dr. Radhakrishnan and offering tribute to him.

The principal, Ms. Sanchita Verma, greeted everyone and in her speech, she mentioned that this batch of teachers are the first teachers to tackle a challenge like the one we are facing now. Our teachers are a part of large-scale systemic change and are making history. She

 conveyed thanks to the parents for their constant support and encouragement. The president of the school managing committee, Mr. Abraham George delivered a motivational speech and appreciated the hard work rendered by the team ISS.

The main programme was a showcase of various performances of songs, dance, poetry recitation and ‘AHA Moments’ by the students of Indian School Sohar from KG to 12th standard. The virtual programme was beautifully anchored by Pranjal Gupta and Aryan Pandey of Class XI. The event was coordinated by ‘Abhivyakti’, the Cultural Club of Indian School Sohar. Mr. Mamtaj Hossain Chowdhury, coordinator of the Cultural Club proposed the vote of thanks.

The event concluded with the ‘Grand Finale’ where all the staff members collaborated to present a solemn desire of facing the challenges and took an oath to overcome them together. The core theme being ‘We Shall Overcome’ instilled profound hope and positivity among everyone.
