CYBER SAFETY WEEK

23-04-2021

Computers and the Internet have opened new vistas of knowledge and brought a change in the educational landscape specially during covid 19.  The emergence of advanced digital innovations is providing new opportunities to connect and learn and have begun influencing every aspect of human life.

The exploration of new vistas and acquisition of rich experiences online require a strong element of caution. After all, every light has its shadow. The technologies can be misused or overused in ways that are detrimental to the users and even non-users.

Many students are confident that they know how to be safe online. However, there are a few reasons students are often more at risk. They may not always think about the consequences of their actions, which can cause them to share too much information about themselves.

With this objective, Indian School Sohar organised a Cyber Safety week from 18.04.21 to 22.04.21.

Teachers guided the students about the safe and responsible use of ICT, such as the internet, social media, online games through presentations, activities, and games to motivate and engage the students.

Cyber safety education provided the students with the knowledge and skills they need to stay safe in online environments. It involved acknowledging the benefits and opportunities offered by the online world while understanding the risks and avoiding potential harm.

Students took pledge to be alert, smart, kind and be internet awesome.

The programme was conceptualized and designed by the Principal Mrs. Sanchita Verma and coordinated by the supervisor Mrs. Indira Sukumaran.
