Indian School Sohar conducted a special assembly on the occasion of National Education Day which is celebrated on November 11 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, first education minister of independent India. He played a significant role in shaping the education system of the country. During his tenure, the UGC, AICTE, Kharagpur Institute of higher education, the University education commission, and the Secondary education commission were set up.

Education is the most important thing in an individual’s life as it has the potential to change his future.

Students participated enthusiastically in the celebration. A short video depicting the thoughts of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad was shared with the students. Thoughts, quotes, and speeches presented by the students dressed as Azad were appreciated by all.  A quiz to spread awareness on the National Education Day was also conducted.

The occasion provided the students to understand the importance of literacy and education for the wellbeing of the society.

This special assembly was organized by the Department of Mathematics.
