SAMARPAN CLUB of Indian School Sohar organized a food donation drive by the staff members, students and parents of classes KG to XII in the auspicious month of Ramadan.
The food donation drive was inaugurated by the Principal Mrs. Sanchita Verma. In the inaugural address, the Principal appreciated the team for organizing the drive, thereby instilling the value of charity amongst students.
Staff and Students participated enthusiastically by donating food items like rice, wheat, flour, sugar, oil, tea, kahwa, cereals, pulses, dry fruits, dates, milk powder, custard powder, biscuits, namkeen, etc.
Working hand in hand with students’ volunteers and club in-charge teachers, the food items brought by the students and staff members were collected, segregated, packed, and then distributed to those in need in the nearby locality, Sohar Souq area, Saham, Sallam area etc. This drive stands at the heart of one of our strategic goals to serve the community.
The Principal, Mrs. Sanchita Verma appreciated the initiative taken up by the Samarpan Club and congratulated the team for its huge success. The coordinator Ms. Indira Sukumaran expressed heartfelt thanks to the Principal, staff members, teacher volunteers, student volunteers, and all the Samarpan club teachers in charge who took part in the drive enthusiastically and worked tirelessly from collection to packing and then distributing the food items to the needy people in the Sohar Souq area and other nearby localities during the evening hours for a week.
The Samarpan Club expresses its gratitude to the SMC, Principal, students, parents, staff members, and all others for the overwhelming support and participation in the JOY OF GIVING drive and for making this drive extremely successful.
