WORLD OZONE DAY

‘World Ozone Day’ is observed around the world every year on 16 September. This event commemorates the date of the signing of the Montreal Protocol. The theme of year 2022 is ‘Global Cooperation Protecting Life on Earth’. The Science department of Indian School Sohar conducted this assembly to seep the message of protecting ozone deep into the heart of every student in such a way that it leaves a lasting impression to carry it forward in their lives.

The assembly started with a prayer song which was followed by the thought for the day, news headlines, speech and quiz. The event incorporated active participation of students performing tableau and science skit. The Principal, Mrs. Sanchita Verma addressed the assembly and reiterated to build a sense of realisation by facilitating grassroots environmental action and sensitize about the importance of protecting ozone layer by emphasizing on its benefits. She rewarded the certificates to the winners of Science skit. The assembly concluded with the National Anthem.
