CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMME

Teachers' Professional Development is a continuous educational effort for educators. It is one of the ways teachers can improve their skills and, in turn boost student outcomes. 

Building the capacity of teachers is essential to achieve the quality of education. With this objective, a one day Capacity Building Programme (CBP) was organised by the Gulf Sahodaya Oman Chapter group of Principals on Saturday 17th September, 2022 for the teachers of Indian Schools in Oman teaching Pre-Primary, Primary, Secondary and Senior Secondary sections.

This training programme was held at two venues, Indian School Muscat and Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir.

The various topics discussed by eminent resource persons were the latest trends in Curriculum Implementation, Engaging Pedagogical approaches, Teaching Technologies, Assessment and Evaluation etc.

In an interactive session teachers from various schools presented the best practices adopted by them in their subjects.

More than a hundred teachers from Indian School Sohar attended this programme. Vice Principal, Mr Yashvir Singh, a veteran in teaching Hindi was a resource person for secondary school teachers.

The programme was conducted under the able guidance and supervision of Dr. Rajeev Kumar Chauhan, Principal, Indian School Muscat and Convener Oman Chapter. 

Mrs. Sanchita Verma, Principal, Indian School Sohar and Dr. Leena Francis, Principal, Indian School Al Seeb were the Training Coordinators for the event.

It was a well organised, well conducted and highly appreciated session.
