Poem recitation is a mode of expression, a medium to reflect the latent talents of the young ones.” Rhymes can prove to be instrumental stepping stones for young children to learn a language. English Rhymes / Poem Recitation Competition was conducted for the students of LKG & UKG on 19th October 2022 in Indian School Sohar to enhance their recitation skills. The objective behind conducting the competition was to build self-confidence, develop oratory skills and self-expression in children. The selection round was conducted on 16th October 2022 in all sections of LKG & UKG and 3 students from each section were selected for the finals.
Our tiny tots enjoyed the beauty of expression, thought, feeling, rhyme, rhythm and the music of words. Students of LKG sung different rhymes like bits of paper, clap your hands, wheels on the bus, aim up to the sky etc. and students of UKG presented poem on various themes like sense organs, water, magic words, trees, I am special etc.
The judges Ms. Juana Bejoy, Ms. Sweety Sinha and Ms. Rafat Shahin appreciated and applauded the performances of the tiny tots.
