COMMON ERRORS IN ENGLISH - A TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR TEACHERS

A training programme on Common Errors in English was conducted by the Head of the English Department, Ms. Divya Johari on 25th September 2022 in the School Recreation Hall for the teachers teaching Kindergarten to XII.

Errors in English Language Learning can cause anyone to stumble especially Non- Native Speakers. Hence, various nuances of the language like subject-verb agreement, tenses, punctuations, use of apostrophes, collocations, modal auxiliaries, how to frame error-free, grammatically correct questions and tips to improve English language skills were discussed by the resource person with special emphasis to refresh the knowledge of the teaching staff not only while formally communicating & writing and also while preparing question papers.

Principal Ms. Sanchita Verma passionately believes that teachers are lifelong learners, and they should continuously strive to hone their skills for the betterment of the student community. With this vision, the interactive workshop was organised. The common errors while using the language were recognized and discussed at length. The training session was interspersed with self-check quizzes, which engaged the teaching community and assessed the knowledge gained.

The educational one-hour session by Ms. Divya Johari effectively updated the language skills of the teachers by addressing all the queries about the finer usage of the English language.
