Unified Sports Day “A Bit of Sport”

Unified Sports Day for the schools of the Sultanate of Oman “a bit of sport” was organized on 28th February in Indian School Sohar.  The event was aimed at promoting the importance of sports and physical activity in the lives of individuals. The day was filled with various games and drills that were enjoyed by everyone.

Sports play an essential role in the physical, mental, and social development of an individual. They promote fitness, endurance, and agility while also fostering teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship.

Principal Ms. Sanchita Verma inaugurated the event and declared the unified sports day open.

The Unified Sports Day had a variety of games and drills organized for the participants. The games included traditional sports such as cricket, football, basketball, badminton, table tennis and volleyball, as well as less conventional games such as tug-of-war. There were also several drills and exercises that were conducted to promote physical fitness, such bottle drill and stick drill.

The highlight of the match was friendly match played between girls of Al Tareef school and ISS girls’ team.

The Unified Sports Day was a massive success, with a large number of staff and students participating. The participants enjoyed the various games and drills and had a fun-filled day.

The event organizers, Physical education team of the school should be commended for their efforts in promoting physical fitness and inclusivity through sports.
