Students of today are the visionaries and torch-bearers of tomorrow. Nurturing students to be future leaders, Indian School, Sohar held its Investiture Ceremony on 14th May 2023 to bestow the deserving students of the primary wing with the responsibility of leading the school with honour.
The Chief Guest of the ceremony was Ms. Liyla Hmood Al Rehalyi, Principal, Al Eshraq School (1-4) Ministry of Education, Al-Batinah North Governorate.
The ceremony commenced with the Royal Anthem of Oman and the National Anthem of India followed by the prayer song.
The Principal Ms. Sanchita Verma extended a formal welcome to the honorable guest. She emphasized on inculcating a sense of responsibility among the young students. Expressing her gratitude towards His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tariq ,she appreciated the warmth and hospitability of Omani citizens She thanked the progressive approach of the School Managing Committee and also thanked her colleagues in organizing the events. She applauded the exemplary work of the Council Members from the previous session and awarded them a certificate of appreciation.
This was followed by an invigorating song "It’s a beautiful day".
The event co-ordinators and members of the Selection Panel were introduced. The co-ordinators included Mr. Kamal Gurung, HOD Physical Education, Ms. Willina Colaco, Faculty of English department, and Ms. Santy Manesh, Faculty of English department.
The selection team led by Ms. Alka Singh, Supervisor (IlI-V) included Ms. Paridhi, Faculty of Hindi Department, Ms. Dishita Dave, Faculty of English Department and Mr. Nikhil More, Faculty of Physical Education Department.
The majestic march of the new Council Members added to the grandeur of the event. They were conferred with badges and sashes by the Chief Guest. The School Captains along with other Council Members,were administered the oath by the Principal, to uphold the spirit and integrity of the school and promised to discharge their duties faithfully and honestly without fear or favor taking school to newer heights.

The ceremony came to a glorious end with the vote of thanks proposed by Kiyansh Jignesh Shah, Junior School Captain. The ceremony was hosted by Ms. Karuna Mehta, Faculty of Science Department and Ms. Willina Colaco, Faculty of English Department.
It was a indeed a proud moment for all the parents to witness their children being invested with great responsibilities while embarking on a new journey as leaders. The team ISS hopes for a productive and exciting year ahead, driven by the passion and leadership of these young individuals.
